Bryan X. Lee, M.D.

Bryan X. Lee, MD is a board-certified anesthesiologist who specializes in pain management, with a focus on interventional procedures for spine related pain, including the back and neck.  He treats both common and uncommon painful conditions, including musculoskeletal and neuropathic pain syndromes.

Dr. Lee utilizes the most current and proven techniques in pain management, which often involves a multimodal approach.  Pain may affect all aspects of a person’s life, including his or her physical, mental, and social well-being.  Based on each patient’s unique presentation, he may prescribe a combination of nerve blocks (“cortisone” injections), pain medications, physical therapy, behavioral therapy, and other evidence-based treatments.  Advanced pain procedures include radiofrequency ablation, spinal morphine pumps, spinal cord stimulators, and discography.  His goals for each patient are pain relief, increased daily functioning, and enjoyment of life.

Dr. Lee received his BS in biochemistry from UCLA, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.  He went to medical school at the University of California, San Diego, where he did research in basic pharmacology, sponsored by the NIH.  He completed his postgraduate training in anesthesiology and pain medicine at the University of Pittsburgh. 

Dr. Lee was born in Taishan, China, a small coastal county in Guangdong Province.   At age 8, he and his family immigrated to Las Vegas, NV, where he lived until coming to California for college.  Dr. Lee met his wife, Karin (a native Californian), while in Pittsburgh.  They are happy to be back in California, close to their families.  Besides medicine, he loves to cook.  He enjoys the outdoors and tries to live a healthy lifestyle, including a daily walk/jog around the neighborhood.
