  lundinDavid A. Lundin, MD is an attending in Neurological Surgery and Director of Minimally Invasive and Complex Spine for the Southern California Center for Neuroscience and Spine.  He specializes in complex spinal surgery for degenerative processes, correction of spinal trauma and deformity as well as minimally invasive spinal surgery, including non-fusion stabilization and artificial disk
replacement. In addition, he treats general neurological disorders to include neuro-oncology, skull base surgery, vascular surgery and peripheral nerve disorders.

During his complex spinal disorders fellowship in the University of Washington Departments of Neurosurgery and Orthopedic Surgery, he had extensive training in spinal instrumentation, correction of spinal deformities, traumatic spine surgery and spinal cord surgery, resection of tumors as well as novel techniques in minimally invasive spine surgery and disk replacement. He has authored several articles in peer reviewed journals as well as several book chapters on treatment of spondylolithesis, spinal deformity and instrumentation, and spinal tumors.

Dr. Lundin is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons. He received his bachelor's degree in Neurobiology/Biopsychology at the University of California, Santa Barbara. After completing his medical school training at the University of Washington, he continued on completing his internship in General Surgery and then his residency in Neurological Surgery. In addition to his fellowship training in spinal disorders, he worked as a Senior Registrar at the Atkinson Morley's Hospital in London, England. He also has interest in international neurosurgery, working in Asia and presenting at international neurosurgery and spine meetings in Eastern and Western Europe.
